The head of the financial department of one of the village councils of the Kyiv region, contrary to the law, did not transfer funds from personal income tax to the state budget for the needs of defenders of Ukraine. At the same time, the official directed the money to other expenses of the village council. He was informed of suspicion.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police.
According to the investigation, the head of the financial department improperly performed his official duties by failing to transfer UAH 93 million in personal income tax paid by the military to the state budget. Instead, he allocated the specified amount to local needs not related to defense.
“In accordance with current legislation, from October 2023, “military” personal income tax must be sent to the state budget to ensure the country’s defense capability and the development of the military-industrial complex. Violation of this order led to losses to the state budget amounting to more than UAH 93 million, which was confirmed by the conclusion of a forensic economic examination,” explained law enforcement officers.
Operational support was provided by employees of the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine, and the pre-trial investigation was carried out by detectives of the Territorial Directorate of the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) in the Kyiv region.
