Will Nikolai Tishchenko run for a ministerial position?

People's Deputy Nikolai Tishchenko may become the new Minister of Sports and Youth of Ukraine. This was reported to our publication by an informed source close to the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia.

“This option was discussed at a meeting with Vladimir Zelensky, and the idea was allegedly voiced by the president himself. But there are also opponents to such a decision. In particular, Rostislav Shurma, whom Tishchenko criticizes and openly accuses of protecting the “timber mafia,” says our source.

According to the interlocutor, Tishchenko’s option is not without meaning due to the fact that he is a former athlete, master of sports of Ukraine in judo and president of the Kyiv Beach Volleyball Association.

“The option with Tishchenko is definitely better than Matvey Bedny (the current acting minister), since Bedny is just a functionary, and not from a sports background. In the end, Tishchenko is able to breathe energy into the sports direction, because he has more than enough energy,” says the source.

Let us recall that Nikolai Tishchenko, who was previously a member of the Servant of the People, left the pro-presidential faction with a scandal amid a conflict with Elena Shulyak, who submitted the corrupt construction bill 5655. Nevertheless, Tishchenko continues to be considered an influential deputy close to the head of state.
