Ukrainian sellers of branded items imported branded items at prices cheaper than second-hand ones. In the country they sold clothes at a cost that was hundreds of times higher than that indicated in the declaration.
As the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Daniil Getmantsev (“Servant of the People”), reported in his Telegram channel, such a scheme was discovered by employees of the State Tax Service and Customs. He noted that the real cost of imported goods was 500 times higher.
In particular, among the customs cleared clothes one could find the following branded items:
- women's trousers Dolce&Gabbana – 184 UAH;
- shirt from Karl Lagerfeld – 87 UAH;
- Jean Paul Gaultier dress – 160 UAH;
- Casablanca blouse – 79 UAH;
- women's vest Antonelli Firenze – 81 UAH;
- Riani belt – 51 UAH.
“It was at these prices (which are cheaper than in stock stores on the last day of delivery) that certain business entities cleared these goods through customs, and at the same time sold them in Ukraine to buyers - well-known stores of branded clothing at real cost,” Getmantsev noted.
He emphasized that the tax efficiency of such enterprises is 0%. As a result of the investigation of the joint office of customs and the State Tax Service, the spread of risky VAT tax codes for these transactions amounting to UAH 6.7 million was prevented.
