Odessa police are in a hurry to please themselves with a new car for 1.3 million hryvnia: in reality it costs a third less

The engine of ambition began to sound in the Odessa police when employees decided to publish a tender for the purchase of a vehicle worth more than a million hryvnia.

These large-scale plans became known thanks to publication in the Prozorro e-procurement system.

The careful details of the tender do not leave anyone indifferent: the estimated cost of the car is as much as 1,325,000 hryvnia. The documentation emphasizes that the department’s plans include the purchase of a Skoda Octavia Style 2.0 TDI. Delivery times are also impressive - until March 15, 2024.

It is known that the police are considering other models with similar characteristics, but provided that the car was released no earlier than 2023.

In times of war and acute economic instability, where every hryvnia counts, such spending raises questions among the public.

Also interesting is the fact that on the manufacturer’s official website, a new car with similar characteristics is valued at almost half a million cheaper, which calls into question the validity of the price indicated in the tender.

It is also worth highlighting the list of technical requirements for the car - heated seats, cruise control, rear view camera and many other innovative options that make the car not just a means of transportation, but a real “smart” vehicle.
