Odessa official Oleg Sovik messed up with Photoshop: an expensive watch, but the sketch was primitive

Oleg Sovik, director of the Gorzelentrest CP and head of the Primorsky district administration of Odessa, found himself in the center of attention on social networks because of an interesting detail in a photo on Facebook. It would not have become anything remarkable if Sovik’s watch had not been painted in green.

This detail caused many questions and jokes on the Internet. Some users began to suspect Sovik that he simply decided to hide a very expensive accessory.

Who is Sovik and why did he get caught?

He has a long career in public service, starting with the executive committee in 2013. He headed the municipal enterprise “Avtobaza sanitary transport”, which won tenders worth 436.5 million hryvnia.

According to the declaration for 2023, submitted in 2024, Sovik has significant property assets: two plots of land, a residential building with an area of ​​almost 400 square meters, which he shares with his wife.

Elena Sovik, by the way, is an interesting person. She owns three non-residential premises, two apartments (purchased in 2023) and a car, and also has cash in the amount of 46 thousand US dollars and 1 million 280 thousand hryvnia.

However, the declaration does not contain information about the watches that appeared in the photograph. Oleg Sovik, when asked by StopCor, assured that these watches cost up to 25 thousand hryvnia and, accordingly, do not require declaration.

He also provided a photograph of the clock visible without the sketch, explaining that it was sketched in order not to attract attention.

When asked where his wife got such assets, he replied that Elena has been doing business for 15 years and simply can afford such property.
