As a result of the missile attack on July 8, one building of the Okhmatdyt children's hospital cannot be restored.
The head of the Ministry of Health, Viktor Lyashko, stated this at a briefing.
“We clearly know that this building cannot be restored. And now the process of technical inspection of the premises of the old technical building is underway. Most likely, it will also be subject to demolition,” Lyashko said.
According to the general director of Okhmatdyt, Vladimir Zhovnir, as a result of the Russian strike, all buildings of the hospital were damaged, but the degree of damage varied. Now they must complete an act that will show the cost of restoring the hospital, and next week Okhmatdyt will select a company that will carry out construction work.
Also, part of the historical buildings were stored on the territory of Okhmatdyt, so the Ministry of Culture must assess the damage to them as objects classified as cultural heritage.
According to the minister, in total more than 800 million hryvnia were received for restoration - this is both money received by the hospital’s charitable accounts and government funds. The priority will be repairs in the 1st, new building, replacement of damaged medical equipment, design and construction of a new building. The state will then finance what will be missing.
According to preliminary estimates, 360-400 million hryvnia are needed to replace the equipment, but engineers are looking to see if there are any visual failures in the entire equipment. Lyashko said that patrons and manufacturers are ready to help with the supply of medical equipment. And everything that is not supplied will be purchased with money that is no longer in the hospital’s account.
