The struggle in meters, or how the housing problem spoils the “rear warriors.”
For more than a month, a scandal has not subsided in Vinnitsa, which may go beyond the region, because it directly concerns the chairman of the OVA, Sergei Borzov, and the local military commissar.
Both are involved in, without exaggeration, a shameful story - the military commissar, at the instigation of the regional leader, shamelessly and free of charge received an apartment from local developer Vladimir Khomenko.
Khomenko is a well-known businessman and volunteer in the region. In his project for the construction of a residential complex, he included seven apartments for military families. Free apartments. As gratitude for the struggle and sacrifice of life.
What the benefactor did not take into account was the position of the regional authorities. Construction was completed a year ago, but permission to connect to the networks was stubbornly, and most importantly, unreasonably, never given. Everything “came together” only when there were one more free apartments in the residential complex project - the military commissar also urgently needed to resolve the housing issue. The hand, as they say, did not tremble, because “to whom is war, and to whom is a mother.” And this is in an area where the number of war graves numbers in the thousands.
This story was told by Khomenko himself in an angry video on his page on social networks. Not immediately, because there was a glimmer of hope that the civilian and military leaders of the region would come to their senses and refuse the “gift” in favor of more worthy people. But here too Khomenko miscalculated. No one returned the apartment, and according to the documents it turned out to be registered in the name of the military commissar’s father.
Meanwhile, multi-page “investigations” began to be published against the developer. True, mostly on resources directly controlled personally by Governor Borzov, and, of course, without “extra” details about how it even came to mind to demand additional living space in exchange for permitting papers. Khomenko was accused of anything - even the fact that he himself compiled a list of families who owned apartments, without prior “consultation” with the regional leadership at the planning stage of the residential complex.
It is clear that all this forced Khomenko to go further and submit applications to NABU and DBR.
I would like to believe that Khomenko will not miscalculate here and that law enforcement agencies will give this story a fair legal assessment. And it will not become another hushed up scandal.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the number of requests from ordinary Ukrainians for the operation of temporary recruitment and social support centers has exceeded two thousand. More than two dozen have already been served with suspicions, 16 are awaiting court hearings on their cases, and more than a hundred are being monitored for “lifestyle monitoring,” which involves analyzing many indicators - from living conditions to the organization of work of the entrusted bodies.
And, apparently, the President “heard the voice of the people” and instructed Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhny to dismiss all the current regional military commissars. In their places, they will appoint combat veterans who saw horror and death at the front, while the corrupt rats in the rear continue to line their pockets.
But the President must pay attention not only to military registration and enlistment offices, but also to another vertical, which very often “covers” them, because “in the game” are not only people in uniform, but also completely civilian officials of different levels of authority.
Some fight for real, snatching their native land from the enemy meter by meter, while others allow “battles” for meters in a new building in the rear area.
