Exposure operation: An intelligence officer from the Prizrak group was detained in Odessa

The Security Service of Ukraine detained in Odessa an intelligence officer of the Russian group “Ghost”, who was a member of the terrorist organization “LPR”.

This was reported by the SBU Telegram.

According to the investigation, the attacker is a local resident - an ideological supporter of the Kremlin regime. During the riots in Odessa in early May 2014, he actively participated in provocations in favor of the Russian Federation.

Then, in order to avoid responsibility for his crimes, he fled to the temporarily occupied part of the Lugansk region, where he joined the ranks of militants. There he was appointed commander of the reconnaissance unit of the Russian-controlled Ghost group, which was subsequently subordinated to the command of the 2nd Army Corps of the aggressor country.

Since that time, the person involved under the pseudonym “Santa” fought against Ukrainian troops in the east of our state, including in the area of the Bakhmut highway.

However, the militant subsequently decided to leave his leaders, secretly traveled to Ukrainian-controlled territory and returned to Odessa. In the city, he tried to “lay low” and thus escape justice.

During searches at the location of the attacker in the regional center, photographs of red-handed members of the terrorist “LPR” were discovered.

Security Service investigators informed the defendant of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization).

He is currently in custody. The perpetrator faces up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

An investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crimes, including the contacts of the former militant with current members of the occupation groups of the Russian Federation.
