The State Committee for Special Communications issued an order to block the websites of state lottery operators MSL and UNL. As follows from the document, this order is valid until the termination or lifting of martial law in Ukraine
According to journalist Evgeny Plinsky, the decision was made after a request from the Bureau of Economic Security (EBS), which suspected the management of lottery companies of organizing illegal online casinos.
He also added that the operators disguised their illegal activities as lotteries, avoiding paying taxes through the “drop” scheme.
According to him, the BEB has already announced suspicions to the director of UNL Andrey Bochkovsky and the general director of MSL Ivan Zheleznyak for organizing and conducting gambling without the appropriate license.
BEB continues to conduct its investigation and is preparing to announce new suspicions. The order to block domains and sites was issued on August 16, however, as of August 21, they continue to work.
