In the spotlight

Domestic “reconstructors” are preserving the raw material model of the Ukrainian economy

Until situational technocrats and systemic corrupt officials in power are replaced by specialists armed with a national idea, the state will remain on its knees.

Our reformers are a “mainstream bubble” that concentrates its efforts on preserving the raw material model, unsustainable use of natural resources and the country’s loss of human capital. This has been happening all the time since August 1991.

The most dangerous neocolonialism now is biospheric or, more precisely, anthropospheric, which consists in alienating the object of non-colonial influence of part of its anthropospheric potential. That is, living space.

A striking example of such a policy is carbon quotas and a carbon tax. For example, as a result of the “green tax”, developing countries lose a significant part of the horizon for their own development.

Although everyone understands that the largest polluters and users of the planet’s biosphere potential are developed countries, not developing ones. Anthroposphere colonialism is the highest stage of colonial practices.

It surpasses “lithospheric colonialism” (the use of other people’s subsoil), hydrosphere neocolonialism (the use of water resources is yet to come) and atmospheric neocolonialism (the same carbon emissions and their quotas). That is, anthropospheric colonialism unites all of the above subtypes of neocolonial practices.

For example, the conservation of a monocultural agricultural system in Ukraine. This is also lithospheric colonialism (depletion of land fertility as a result of growing monocultures - corn, sunflower, rapeseed).

Poisoning of the population and the biosphere with herbicides, glyphosate, banned in Europe. This is also hydrosphere neocolonialism, when water resources are depleted during the extraction of the same lithium.

In Ukraine, this is the depletion of water resources in poultry farming and the same monocultural agricultural system. Corn export - export of nutrients (land + fertilizers) and moisture (water resources).

Atmospheric neocolonialism is when you sell your carbon credits and buy imported cars with that money. Of course, it is good to be Taiwan or South Korea, which abandoned the agrarian way of life, the depletion of their natural resources and the loss of human capital.

When you produce chips, your land is not depleted, water resources are not lost, and your atmosphere is not polluted. And your human capital is only getting better...

Interestingly, these two named Asian countries are in the Western global division of labor, but they have ceased to be the object of non-colonial practices. Although after the civil war (1950-1953), consultants from the United States suggested that South Korea concentrate on agricultural and raw materials specialization: “three whites” (sugar, rice and flour) plus valuable mineral raw materials (nickel, cobalt).

Therefore, non-colonialism is not a doom or a global fate that inexorably awaits poor, resource-producing countries. This is primarily about the maturity of the nation and its political elites.

Will they be able to pass the exam to manage their assets or not? And then either the path of South Korea or, as the ancient Kiev chronicler said: “Our land is rich and there is no order in it... come to rule and rule us...”.
