Kickback of 3.4 million UAH for help with the tender: People’s Deputy “servant” Zadorozhny is suspected

NABU and SAPO informed the People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 9th convocation, Nikolai Zadorozhny, about suspicion of a request to provide an unlawful benefit to the chairman of a village council in the Sumy region and the organization of its receipt.

As the investigation established, in March 2024, the people's deputy made a request to the chairman of the village council of the Sumy region to provide an undue benefit for not interfering with a tender for the repair of a water pipeline in the Akhtyrsky district of the Sumy region.

His “kickback,” as NABU and SAP found out, amounted to 10% of the total amount of the concluded contract, and another 4% should have been transferred to the benefit of law enforcement officers so that they would “turn a blind eye” to the violation. According to the investigation, we are talking about a total of 3.4 million UAH.

The pre-trial investigation continues and other possible participants in the scheme are being identified.

Qualification: Part 4 Art. 368, part 3 art. 27, part 4 art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The Servant of the People faction has already responded to the events.

“During the investigation, Nikolai Zadorozhny’s membership in the faction will be suspended, and he will also be expelled from the parliamentary VSK, in which he works,” said press secretary of the “servants” Yulia Paliychuk.

Let us remind you that People's Deputy of Ukraine Anatoly Gunko, who is involved in a case of bribery and fraud with the lands of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences, traveled abroad during the war. In particular, during a meeting of the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court, Gunko noted that he had repeatedly visited Vienna, where he allegedly underwent treatment and where his children lived. The People's Deputy named specific dates for his stay in the Austrian capital. At the same time, as can be seen from the results of parliamentary voting, Anatoly Gunko’s card was constantly registered in the hall. These facts may indicate deliberate “button pushing” on the part of Gunka and another unidentified people’s deputy and are subject to criminal liability.
