As it turned out, PFU constantly monitors its payments. Some pensions are canceled and cannot be renewed in accordance with current legislation.
Despite general social unrest, the process of canceling pension payments has been going on for a long period. Deputy Minister Daria Marchak explained during the telethon which Ukrainians are at risk.
Daria Marchak, Deputy Minister of Social Policy: “I would like to reassure everyone and say that in fact the mechanism has been working for a long time, many years, and this is a constant practice of how the system of social payments and pensions works. And now, on the contrary, we are working to weaken and make this mechanism simpler and more adapted for those citizens who are abroad or in a combat zone and who have problems with the implementation of this mechanism.
First of all, we are talking about pensioners who have not carried out any transactions with their pension account for 6 months. This mechanism was introduced several years ago.
“We don’t know what could have happened to this person, and so that the money of the unified social tax payers is not used in such a way that it simply lies and is not used by anyone, this mechanism was introduced several years ago,” explains Marchak
However, this does not mean that payments have been canceled completely. These funds are kept in the accounts of the Pension Fund until the situation is clarified. For example, if the pensioner died, the money will not be provided. But in case of unlawful cancellation, the Ukrainian will be able to receive his funds.
How can Ukrainians get their pension payments back?
In order for a person to receive funds in the future, she needs to undergo physical identification. This can be done both online and offline.
Previously, to do this, you had to come to a PFU or bank branch, now we have added tools for identification through video - by calling the PFU, you can say that you need to go through video identification. - notes the Deputy Minister
You can undergo verification through the PFU web portal and thanks to the “Diya. Signature." Citizens located abroad can also be identified at the consulate through an authorized person.
