Dad gives gifts worth 15.8 million, and his wife borrows: how does the “philistine” life of the head of LOVA, Maxim Kozitsky, work?

Fresh details from the declaration of the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maxim Kozitsky, for 2023, caused a real flurry of comments and speculation. The main “highlight” of his property is the luxurious gifts from his father, Zinovy Kozitsky.

Among them are luxury Swiss watches, an apartment in Lviv and non-residential premises. The total price of this “bonus” is a “hefty” 15.8 million hryvnia, which obviously attracts attention and raises a lot of questions about his connections and work as an official.

Gifts include luxury Swiss Breguet watches worth 709 thousand hryvnia, as well as an apartment in Lviv with an area of 176.1 square meters, valued at 10.9 million hryvnia, and non-residential premises in the same city with an area of 49.3 square meters for 4.1 million hryvnia.

The declaration also shows Maxim’s income for the past year, including his salary and interest on bank deposits. According to the document, he received a considerable salary at LOVA - 953 thousand hryvnia. But he didn’t stop there.

The declaration also indicates the interest that Maxim receives from banks in the amount of more than 133 thousand hryvnia.

Oksana Kozitskaya, the wife of the head of LOVA, was also noted in the declaration. Over the past year, she received 188.9 thousand hryvnia in salary from companies associated with the business of Zinovy Kozitsky, as well as 23 thousand hryvnia from renting out property.

In addition, Maxim’s wife became the owner of two apartments in Lviv with an area of 81.1 square meters and 175 square meters, respectively, as well as a parking space.

Interestingly, the declaration mentions only one car in the Kozitsky family – a 2021 Audi Q5, registered to Oksana. In 2022, she had financial obligations to Zinovy Kozitsky in the amount of 2.1 million hryvnia, which she has not yet repaid.

It is important to mention that Maxim Kozitsky has been heading LOVA since 2020 and before that, together with his father, he owned a business in the field of renewable energy.

The father, in turn, is one of the most influential businessmen in the Lviv region, the owner of oil and gas production enterprises, as well as companies specializing in renewable energy - solar and wind power plants.

It is worth recalling that the court released Alexander Liev, a suspect in the theft of 1.5 billion from the Ministry of Defense, from custody
