The Kiev City Council plans to allocate 10 million hryvnia for the current year and 50 million hryvnia for the next year to pay Kiev residents joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Kyiv City Council should allocate 10 million UAH this year and 50 million next year for payments to Kiev residents who are mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from December 2023.
The mayor of Kiev, Vitaliy Klitschko, wrote about this in a telegram
“Kyiv will pay 30 thousand hryvnia to Kiev residents mobilized after December 1 of this year. This payment is one-time and is aimed at additional material support for recruits. For 2023, we can allocate 10 million hryvnia. And next year’s budget will include 50 million. These funds are part of the “Defender of Kiev” program, ” Klitschko wrote.
Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko emphasized the importance of this decision and noted the material support for the defenders of Ukraine through the “Defender of Kyiv” program. In addition, it is planned to approve funding for 15 city target programs in all sectors of the economy, which are included in the Kyiv budget for 2024. Deputies still have to finalize the budget for next year and resolve other important issues at upcoming meetings.
“ The City Council found almost 7 billion hryvnia to help our defenders this year. And it continues to allocate these funds from the budget at the request of our military. By the end of this year we will make several more decisions on financial support for units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In particular, we are preparing draft decisions for the next meeting. To allocate more than 700 million hryvnia ,” Klitschko added.
