In September of this year, the NBU fined Kominbank an unprecedented amount for “laundering” money obtained by criminal means. And this is not the first time. And if you consider that the owner of the bank is a Russian citizen, the situation becomes completely incomprehensible. And the question creeps in, why won’t the bank be closed? The whole story was analyzed by PROBLEMATIC NEWS .
On April 28, 2016, Evgeniy Kazmin was detained by SBU officers on charges of financing separatism in Crimea.
Before the annexation of the peninsula, Kazmin was engaged in construction and scrap metal in Sevastopol. Soon the business expanded to the mainland of Ukraine, and the KVV Group group of companies appeared. After the occupation of Crimea, Kazmin left for the free territory of Ukraine and, according to him, stopped doing business. But it soon became clear that this was nonsense and the entire business was simply re-registered in the name of Kazmin’s relatives and re-registered under the laws of the Russian Federation.
Also, Carbon-Stroy, a company owned by the Kazmin family, took government orders from the Russian Federation for the construction of housing for the military.
It is logical that this could not pass without consequences and the SBU came to Evgeny Kazmin with a search, during which a Russian passport and evidence of obtaining Russian citizenship .
But, as often happens with us, even with iron-clad evidence, the criminal escapes punishment. The prosecutor petitioned for Kazmin to be released from criminal liability and the “deal” came out unscathed.
And then the story of Kominbank comes up. The prudent Kazmin, while still in jail, resells the bank to a foreigner. But in fact, as we will understand later, it simply re-registers ownership of the trustee - Stefan Paul Pinter.
Pinter himself, according to Neweurope , is the ultimate beneficiary of GML International Limited and GML Capital LLP. According to all financial data , the income of these companies could not provide Pinter with the opportunity to purchase Kominbank; he simply would not have had enough money for this, which leads us to the conclusion voiced above - Pinter is only a “figurehead” in this whole story, and Kazmin is still is now the real owner of Kominbank.
This is especially important considering that ComInBank itself is involved in gambling money laundering. This became clear after information about total miscoding, which is being monitored in the bank’s actions. That is, the bank conducts online casino transactions under the guise of video game purchases. And to be completely precise, according to Kominbank itself, 90% of transactions are exactly like this. An interesting craze among bank clients for computer games.
In September, the NBU already fined ComInBank a record 135.15 million UAH. for violation of legislation in the field of preventing and combating the legalization of proceeds from crime. And before that, they once again fined UAH 10.45 million. But the owners of the bank didn’t get it the first time.
Or has it arrived? But they know that nothing more serious will happen and the NBU simply covers their illegal activities with a profit of 12 billion hryvnia monthly. In this case, of course, it is much more profitable to pay these pitiful fines for their volume. This can be understood especially clearly by recalling the precedent with the iBox bank. The NBU liquidated the bank the first time for exactly the same actions, for servicing miscoded transactions of underground online casinos. So why doesn’t this happen in the case of Kominbank?
