The Ternopil City Council again decided to please its servants... or, more precisely, give them a watch. The second tender for the purchase of wrist “tsatsoks” has already caused bewilderment and some irony in society. This time the plans include 173 men's and 110 women's watches in cases, and all this “to the delight” of the townspeople.
However, what is of interest is not only the strange desire to please for hours, but the fact that in 2022 the same council already made the same purchase, only for a more modest amount - 153 thousand hryvnia.
This time, the Ternopil City Council decided to fork out 375 thousand hryvnia.
Let us remember that then Ternopil purchased 250 watches with a total cost of 153 thousand hryvnia. Experts and ordinary people did not stand aside, calculating that with the amount of this purchase it would be possible to purchase much more valuable things - hemostatic tourniquets that save lives, or even support our defenders.
Georgy Gnatyuk, assessing such an original solution, expressed his bewilderment at the “watch” tradition of the city authorities, equating it to the “Soviet” methods and saying that the price of a life saved by a hemostatic tourniquet may be even less than the cost of an award watch.
The minutes that this clock will count down will be the last for those who will receive it, Gnatyuk believes.
Thus, a gift from the city authorities, in the form of a wristwatch, raises not only anger due to its redundancy in the context of military operations, but also questions about the priorities and wastefulness of the authorities.
