Police conducted searches in the Kiev Metro due to discovered cracks in the subway

Due to flooding in the Kiev metro, searches are being carried out in the offices of the Kyiv Metro, Metrostroy and other departments of the city administration.

Verbatim: “On December 13, Kiev police investigators began conducting simultaneous searches within the framework of criminal proceedings under the qualification “Official negligence” (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code) in municipal institutions of the city and at a private enterprise.

The purpose of the investigation is to check for any miscalculations at the stages of design, construction and operation of this section of the subway.

And also to identify the responsible persons, as a result of whose actions the depressurization and flooding of the metro tunnel occurred.”

Details: It is noted that the metro stations also served as shelter for Kiev residents and city guests during an air raid raid.

In addition, due to the accident in the metro, thousands of people are forced to look for other ways to travel around the capital.

The police added that they are taking all possible measures to redistribute ground transport routes and relieve traffic congestion.

  • From December 9, the Kiev Metro will stop traffic between the Teremki and Lybidska stations due to the need for urgent repairs on the running tunnel between the stations.
  • On December 8, it was necessary to urgently stop traffic on the section between the Teremki and Demeevskaya stations.
  • Later, the telegram channel “Passengers of Kyiv” published a video that shows that the emergency tunnel is filling with water.
  • The capital's law enforcement officers opened a criminal case of official negligence due to cracks in the ceiling of the Kiev metro between the Teremki and Lybidskaya stations.
