Poroshenko became 2 billion richer in two months, a “blind trust” helped

The leader of European Solidarity, Petro Poroshenko, enriched himself by more than 1 billion hryvnia in October. Almost 824 million UAH. Of this significant amount, the oligarch received from the so-called “blind trust,” the NAPC portal reports, citing changes in the declarant’s property status made on October 10.

On October 10, Petro Poroshenko added to his property status and declared UAH 823.7 million in dividends from the Swiss company Sequent Schweiz AG. This became the payment of dividends from the so-called “blind trust”. The indicated amount is almost three times more than last year.

For comparison: in 2023, the blind trust transferred UAH 329 million in dividends to the people’s deputy, in 2022 – UAH 905 million, in 2021 – only UAH 152.4 million. In addition, in October the leader of Eurosolidarity indicated other large incomes: UAH 213 million. in the form of bond repayment amounts and almost 2 million from other sources.

The story of the blind trust dates back to 2016, when the world media simultaneously published a large investigation revealing the involvement of many world leaders and famous people of various professions in hiding huge amounts of money in offshore companies. Among them were Petro Poroshenko and Putin. The purpose of creating offshore companies was to minimize Poroshenko’s taxes. After the scandal, the oligarch was forced to transfer his company “Roshen” to what appears to be a “blind” trust. This allowed the people's deputy's company to still operate in Russia even during the war. And in September 2024, Roshen shelves with sweets were discovered on store shelves in the Kursk region of Russia.

As previously reported, Poroshenko enriched himself by a billion in just one month of the war. This is 125 times more than the oligarch earned the year before the Russian invasion.

Also, according to an analytical report by YouControl, deputies from the European Solidarity party, of whom there are only 27 out of 401 in parliament, enriched themselves during the war by an amount greater than all other deputies combined.

In just the years of a full-scale invasion, Poroshenko rose from 12th to 3rd place among the richest oligarchs, only Akhmetov and Pinchuk are richer than him.
