Czech President Petr Pavel, who is a retired army general, does not consider the current successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Zaporozhye region to be a “turning point” of the offensive.

“I probably wouldn’t call it a turning point yet. This is very positive news, but only when it turns out to be a reality,” said Pavel.
“In fact, this is only part of the front and advances on the order of kilometers, tens of kilometers at most. And Russia has more than one line of defense. There are at least two of them. Some places have three and they are very well equipped. But the truth is that the first milestone is usually the strongest. On the other hand, even a breakthrough on one sector of the front does not necessarily mean the collapse of Russian troops in Ukraine and the victory of Ukraine,” the president said.
