Princess Beatrice from Transcarpathia: former rural deputy Nikolai Grechenyuk wins tenders and pampers his daughter with royal luxury

Princess Beatrice is the daughter of the second son of the late Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. A frequent guest at social events, she lives in the castle and has all the privileges of being a member of the Royal Family.

Ukraine also has its own Beatrice, however, her dad is just a former rural deputy from the Party of Regions in Transcarpathia. But she also has castles, and expensive jewelry, and, of course, the opportunity to visit the most expensive resorts in the world. This is Beatrice Nikolaevna Grechenyuk, whose father Nikolai Grechenyuk, a simple owner of a sole proprietorship from the village of Podvynogradov, wins almost all state tenders for repairs and clearing of roads in the Vinogradovsky district of the Transcarpathian region.

Nikolai Grechenyuk became a deputy of the Podvinogradovsky village council in 2010, and after the administrative-territorial reform he is part of the Vinogradovsky city territorial community. The population of the village is about 4000 people. By the time of the elections, Grechenyuk noted that he was a private entrepreneur. In 2009, he registered a sole proprietorship Nikolay Vasilievich Grechenyuk with the main activities – freight road transport and specialized construction work.

Grechenyuk’s sole proprietorship is so successful that from 2016 to January of this year it won almost 370 budget tenders. Most of them took place without competition and on a contractual basis.

For example, in January 2024, Grechenyuk’s sole proprietorship won a tender for snow removal services on the territory of Vinogradovskaya OTG for 400,000 hryvnia. He was the only participant. The period for providing services is from January to December of this year. But it’s certain that Grechenyuk will need to clear snow for a maximum of 3-4 months a year.

A similar tender, but for 600,000 hryvnia, was won by Grechenyuk’s sole proprietorship in 2023. Then he was also the only participant.

But Grechenyuk managed to win the most expensive tender in the fall of 2018. It concerned the overhaul of just under 2 km of road in the urban village of Vilok, located close to the border with Hungary. Its cost reached 746 thousand hryvnia.

The village of Podvinogradov, where Nikolai Grechenyuk lives, is quite widely known in narrow circles. It is located 11 kilometers from the Hungarian border and 12 from the Romanian one. In 2018, journalists from Ukrayinska Pravda filmed a story about how the richest Roma settlement in Transcarpathia lives here. “Forged gates with gilding, towers, arched windows, marble columns and stairs - this pathetic part of Pidvinogradov is often compared to Kyiv’s Koncha-Zaspa or Rublyovka near Moscow,” the report says.

In 2015, when Grechenyuk was a deputy of the village council from the Party of Regions, his relatives and associates received at least four plots of land in Podvinogradov. Thus, they exercised their right to free land, guaranteed to every Ukrainian by the Constitution. Thus, by decision of the village council, the plots were given to Beatrice Nikolaevna Grechenyuk (daughter), Mikhail Vasilyevich Grechenyuk (brother), Mikhail Mikhailovich Krainer (according to media reports, Grechenyuk’s driver), Marianna Aleksandrovna Krainer (wife of Grechenyuk’s driver). The trials for the allocation of these land plots continued until 2021. But these persons still defended their right to land.

Nikolai Grechenyuk himself has four plots of land and a house in Podvinogradov. His daughter Beatrice has a total of three plots and her own estate.

In addition to sole proprietorship, Nikolai Grechenyuk is also the founder of Ligaspetsstroy LLC, who also has good luck with tenders. Thus, according to Prozzoro, this company took part in at least 124 competitions and won contracts worth about 370 million hryvnia.

To be honest, the amounts are not too cloudy when compared with other “tender tycoons”. But this does not prevent Nikolai Grechenyuk’s daughter Beatrice (or Beatrix, as she is indicated in the registers) from living her best life here and now.

Hermes bags, a Porshe car, holidays in Paris, Dubai, Sardinia and ski resorts, jewelry from the most expensive brands in the world. Beatrice shows all this on her Instagram, keeping up with her friends, including the sister of the disgraced army plunderer Roman Grinkevich, Olga, and the former wife of the people's deputy from the Servant of the People Nikolai Tishchenko, Alla Baranovskaya.

Beatrice's husband is an equally famous person. Andrey Petyovka is the son of people’s deputy Vasily Petyovka, who is the cousin of another people’s deputy Ivan Baloga.

Although the Petyovkas have a long-standing hatred of Baloga, this does not prevent both families from ruling their native land on a special scale. Thus, in 2008, the Mukachevo City Council leased the most famous castle of Transcarpathia, “Palanok,” to the company of Petyovka’s wife. It is likely that Beatrice Grechenyuk may well have her own chambers in it as a “real princess.”

On her Instagram, Grechenyuk’s daughter also indicates that she is an interior designer. In particular, she showed subscribers her house, the design of which she allegedly made herself. Another business of Beatrice is the restaurant Darlin' restobar in Mukachevo. The menu includes luxurious dishes such as Filet Mignon of foie gras and expensive wines.

Beatrice’s man, Andrey Petevka, has a car business, and he also unsuccessfully ran for Mukachevo from the Rodnoe Zakarpattia party. In June 2022, at the height of Russia’s war against Ukraine, People’s Deputy Vasily Petevka asked the leadership of the Transcarpathian Regional Military Administration for his son a pass to travel abroad for a period of 3 months. Of course, the possibility of leaving was reinforced by the fact that Andrey Petyovka was supposedly a volunteer from the Our Palyanitsa Charitable Foundation.

On the list of those for whom Vasily Petevka asked permission, you can also see his matchmaker, Nikolai Grechenyuk. Regarding the order of these passes to travel abroad, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption drew up an administrative protocol for Petevka. But after assurances that both his son and his matchmaker returned to Ukraine with volunteer help, NAPC no longer had any claims against him.

In July 2022, when the above passes were in effect, Beatrice Grechenyuk gave birth to a daughter, so it can be assumed that at that time the father and husband asked for permission to travel abroad not for volunteering, but to purchase gifts for a family holiday.

But, judging by Instagram, Beatrice Grechenyuk went on the most luxurious trip in September 2023. A woman with her daughter, and perhaps her husband, were vacationing in Italy. And not just somewhere in a hotel, but in a real palace.

People from Transcarpathia have long been able to amaze with their craving for luxury, gilding and the like. But what can be seen on the social media pages of the daughter of a former rural deputy and the wife of the people’s deputy’s son will easily surprise the most famous socialites in the world. Here one should think about whether all this stuff is not being bought through smuggling, tons of which are imported through the Transcarpathian region. After all, Transcarpathia is the leader among the regions of Ukraine in the supply of undeclared goods.
