Mobilization continues: Parliament explained why more men are being drafted in rural areas

Subpoenas are more often served on village residents than on city residents due to problems of corruption and difficulties in finding people at their place of registration.

This was stated by a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Solomiya Bobrovskaya.

“Let's take Odessa as an example. The man who was a strong brigade commander of the 14th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces became the head of the Odessa Regional TCC. Working in the Odessa region with a strong network of not only Russian agents, but also corrupt leaders, is still a challenge. There were agreements with the previous head of the TCC: from 8 thousand dollars per person in the regions for a deferment. A scheme of mutual responsibility for district TCCs was organized ,” she said.

Bobrovskaya also noted that “hacking the system” is quite difficult.

In addition, according to the deputy, village residents are usually located at their place of registration, but city residents are more difficult to find.

In Ukraine, a fierce war has been going on for ten years with Russia, which attacked us. Since February 2022, there has been a full-scale war. The process of serving subpoenas is not an automatic ticket to war, but, first of all, updating the data of Ukrainian citizens. Yes, following a summons, it is possible to call up a person liable for military service for military service. This is a common process in a country at war. We should not forget that it is the duty of every Ukrainian to defend their country. For if today you run away from war, tomorrow it can come to you.
