The Dencun update will be deployed to the Ethereum mainnet on approximately March 13, 2024. This was confirmed by developer Tim Beiko.
According to Beiko, the update will take place in slot 8626176. It will be created approximately on March 13, 2024 at 08:55 EST (15:55 Kyiv time).
Let us remind you that the update was previously successfully deployed in the Goerli, Sepolia and Holesky test networks. The failure occurred only in the first case, which is why the developers had to postpone the upgrade date.
Let us remind you that the main feature of Dencun is proto-dunksharding. It allows you to create “blobs” that compress data off-chain, which in turn will increase throughput and reduce transaction costs.
CoinEx experts believe that this update will have a positive impact not only on the Ethereum ecosystem, but also on the industry as a whole, driving adoption.
