Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology - Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov said at the annual August conference that Ukraine will transform education in five key areas: educational management, teaching staff, content and meaning of education, system and network education and learning space.
He noted that the goal of the reform is to make education accessible, high-quality and modern for all Ukrainians
The conference presented 5 key areas of transformation, namely:
Educational management is a system for managing educational institutions. It includes planning, organizing, motivating and controlling the educational process.
“Educational management is the foundation on which the entire education system is built. If managers do not have the opportunity to implement their ideas and implement projects, then the system will not be able to develop. Our task is to ensure that all education managers have the opportunity to implement specific projects and achieve their goals,” Fedorov said.
The teaching staff is, as the official noted, the main strength of the educational system. Teachers are responsible for the quality of student learning.
“Our task is to make the teaching profession the most prestigious and worthy in our country. To do this, we will change working conditions, the rules for setting wages, and increase the level of qualifications of teachers,” Fedorov said.
The content and meaning of education is what students receive during the learning process. This includes knowledge, skills and values.
“It is necessary to continue to introduce new education standards, analyze their results, and improve programs and content. It is also important to pay attention to the educational space, which affects the effectiveness of learning. We want our educational system to be accessible to everyone. We will create new educational institutions that will meet the needs of modern society,” Fedorov said.
The education system and network is the structure within which the educational process is implemented. It includes educational institutions, their network and interactions between them.
“We need to create a new education network that takes into account internal migration, the needs of children abroad, as well as the efficient use of resources,” the minister noted.
The learning space is the physical environment in which learning occurs. It includes buildings of educational institutions, their equipment and design.
“For such a transformation, we need to create a safe and modern learning environment in which students feel comfortable,” Fedorov said.
