Regina Kharchenko is a deputy, and until yesterday the head of the Servant of the People faction in the city council may become the new secretary (mayor) of Zaporozhye, representing the interests of Vadim Novinsky.
According to our sources in the Zaporozhye City Council, the party has known for a long time that Regina Kharchenko is in the pay of the sanctioned Orthodox oligarch Vadim Novinsky. But when Vadim Novinsky, who has business interests in Zaporozhye, decided to appoint Regina Kharchenko as acting mayor of the city, last night Kharchenko was urgently expelled from the Servant of the People faction. First of all, this decision was dictated by the desire to distance ourselves as much as possible from Novinsky’s “dirty money.”
What is noteworthy is that to install Regina Kharchenko in office, Novinsky consolidated and “motivated” deputies of the pro-Russian parties Shariy and OPZZH. And also the local political force - Unity.
Formally, Regina Kharchenko was expelled from the Servant of the People party due to actions not coordinated with the Faction: “During the discussion, the deputies present expressed no confidence in deputy Regina Vladislavovna Kharchenko. They expressed concern regarding the representation of R.V. Kharchenko. other government bodies without the consent of the Faction.”
