“Regional” Efremov, accused of treason, fled to Moscow

Alexander Efremov is an ally of Yanukovych and ex-leader of the Party of Regions faction. In Ukraine, he is accused of a number of crimes - according to investigators, the deputy contributed to the creation of the “LPR” group, helped to seize the buildings of the Lugansk Regional State Administration and the SBU in 2014. He is also accused of treason. The case against him is currently under trial.

In 2019, Efremov was released from custody after three years in the Starobelsk pre-trial detention center (Luganschinsk region). First, the ex-deputy was released under house arrest, and then the measure of restraint was changed to personal obligation for two months, which was not extended after that.

Since then, almost nothing has been heard about Efremov. As well as about his business. Where is he? In Ukraine? What about the lawsuit?

“Schemes” found out that Efremov left Ukraine after the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation through Slovakia and has not returned since then.

Where is he now? According to our data, in Moscow. Before the invasion, Efremov traveled to the Russian Federation several times - the last time in February 2022.

Journalists found that Efremov registered in Moscow, in luxury apartments in the Triumph Palace residential complex. This property is registered in the name of his son, Igor Efremov. Its total area is more than 650 square meters, the estimated cost is about $4 million.

“Schemes” called Efremov on his Russian number. When asked what he was doing in Moscow and whether he planned to return to Ukraine, he replied: “You know, I have no plans to give any interviews now before goodbye.”

The Office of the Prosecutor General told Schemes that Efremov does not have a preventive measure and is not wanted. .

What about his business then?

The materials on it were to be transferred from the occupied Starobelsk court to the Sinelnikovsky court of the Dnepropetrovsk region. However, information about such a transfer was not received by the UCP.
