Russian bookmakers and online casinos continue to make money from Ukrainians - Guardian

Despite the actions of the authorities in the field of gambling, gambling remains a profitable area for Russians who want to make money in Ukraine and collect personal data of Ukrainian players.

This is stated in the material of The Guardian

It is noted that Ukrainian officials, seeking to oust the Russians from the Ukrainian gaming industry, are going to imitate the methods of the US authorities in the 1980s, when they eradicated the Italian mafia from Las Vegas casinos.

The gambling regulator (CRAIL) began revoking licenses in September 2022, and in the spring of this year, Vladimir Zelensky imposed sanctions against more than 400 individuals and legal entities associated with the Russian gambling business, including five Ukrainian gambling companies.

Banks and other financial institutions suspected of facilitating the laundering of gambling proceeds on behalf of Russian oligarchs have also been the focus of attention.

Member of the Gambling and Lotteries Regulatory Commission Elena Vodolazhko said that the regulator received an invitation to Nevada from the US Gambling Control Commission to discuss reforming the Ukrainian system and eliminating Russian influence.

Let us remind you that according to KRAIL, Russian capital is present in the Pin-UP online casino. Back in November 2022, the SBU provided KRAIL with data on Pin-UP’s Russian connections. According to the register of legal entities of Cyprus, 3 out of 4 Pin-UP owners have Russian citizenship.
