Law enforcement agencies in the Kyiv region identified criminals who were involved in illegal activities in an underground casino. A citizen of the Russian Federation turned out to be responsible for organizing this “business”.
This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office. The suspects face criminal liability.
“According to the investigation, in May 2023, a Russian citizen living in the Kyiv region organized and managed an illegal gambling business. The man rented a premises in Pereyaslav, Boryspil district, equipped it and installed computers with the appropriate software there. He coordinated the actions of his subordinates, collected money from gambling and provided financing for the criminal activities of his group,” the press service said.
In addition, the organizer was assisted by three women who served as administrators of the gambling hall. “Clients” could get into underground gaming establishments only on the recommendation of regular players and preliminary phone calls. Arriving on a pre-agreed day, visitors paid money, after which they were given a password for the game.
Administrators ensured that visitors followed the rules of the game, paid players money if they won, kept records of cash, etc. During authorized searches in gaming halls and places of residence of the defendants, rough records, system units, monitors, routers, mobile phones, memory cards, cash and Russian passports were discovered and confiscated.
The “businessman” and three assistants were informed of suspicion for organizing and providing access to online gambling.
