Rivne NPP spent 4 million from the budget on alcohol and “snacks”

What do state companies spend their money on? Beer, chips and sweets - these are the items of expenditure that one of the largest energy enterprises in Ukraine, Rivne Nuclear Power Plant, wrote off tidy sums from the budget. The suppliers were companies that had already been involved in cases related to tenders. Alcohol and snacks for “energy drinks” cost taxpayers 4 million UAH.

This is stated in a new investigation

Rivne NPP is a sensitive facility located near the city of Varash in the Rivne region, which is a separate division of the state enterprise NAEC Energoatom. Last year, the then general director of the power plant, Pavel Pavlyshyn, came into the focus of journalists’ attention because of the outrageous story of an attack on an elderly woman. the official's son beat up a pensioner; as a result of her injuries, she died; after publicity, Pavlyshyn Sr. left his post.

“StopCor” decided to take a closer look at the activities of the nuclear power plant and examine its purchases - during Pavlyshyn’s tenure and after it. And for good reason: journalists discovered a number of product items that were quite surprising for an energy company.

In 2016-2023, the customer of the goods was the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant, State Enterprise NNEGC Energoatom, who made purchases totaling over UAH 11 billion 363 million. Among them, more than UAH 4 million of budget funds were spent on beer, chips, ice cream, confectionery and alcoholic drinks. In total, this amount was spent during 64 tenders for the purchase of such goods,” said Anastasia Bondarenko.

It is noteworthy that in 2020-2021, the supplier of beer to the Rivne nuclear power plant was Alliance-Logistic LLC. The company belongs to Alexander Semenenko, who was a deputy of the Kyiv City Council. According to media reports, this company is part of the orbit of Vyacheslav Strelkovsky, who is the organizer of the so-called Kyiv “conversion center”.

But the vodka at the nuclear power plant was supplied by Rivne Distribution Company LLC. This structure appears in criminal proceedings for the illegal acquisition and storage for the purpose of sale, as well as transportation for this purpose of illegally manufactured ethyl alcohol, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products, that is, in the commission of a crime under Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
