The head of Atomproektengineering, Nikolay Bozhko, was given bail in the amount of 7 million hryvnia.

The general director of the Atomproektengineering division at the State Enterprise NAEC Energoatom, Nikolai Bozhko, was given a bail of 7 million hryvnia as a preventive measure, as a decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court, according to information from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

The official is suspected of causing almost 100 million hryvnia in damage to the state during the construction of a spent nuclear fuel storage facility.

The court imposed procedural duties on the suspect: to report changes in his place of residence and place of work; refrain from communicating with other suspects in the case and witnesses; deposit your passport and wear an electronic bracelet.

Let us remind you that NABU and SAPO reported suspicion to the general director of the separate division “Atomproektengineering” of NNEGC “Energoatom” Nikolai Bozhko and four other persons involved in the case. According to the investigation, in December 2020, an agreement was concluded between the Atomproektengineering OP and a predetermined private company, bypassing open tenders, to complete the construction of the Centralized Spent Nuclear Fuel Storage Facility.

In order to seize the funds of the State Enterprise NAEC Energoatom, the suspects, with the help of additional agreements, tripled the price of the contract - from UAH 421 million. up to UAH 1.497 billion, in particular adding to its conditions the supply of radiation monitoring system equipment. The contracting company purchased this equipment at market value, and then sold it in 2021 for much more. As a result of these actions, SE NNEGC Energoatom overpaid about UAH 100 million.
