Scandal around food contracts: a serviceman showed crazy amounts from KNU Shevchenko

The Anti-Corruption Center presented information highlighting the scandalous practices of concluding food contracts at capital universities in the amount of UAH 55 million.

The investigation is based on the statement of Maxim Lutsik, a serviceman of the Defense Forces, who noted the obvious facts of financial excesses and discrepancies in food prices.

Maxim Lutsik, a former student of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, drew public attention to the fact that the leadership of Shevchenko University is openly robbing the Ministry of Defense due to contracts for food for cadets.

“The leadership of Shevchenko University, under the leadership of Bugrov, does not hesitate to openly rob the Ministry of Defense of the cadets’ meals. Even in the procurement of the Ministry of Defense, the times of Reznikov, known thanks to the investigation of “eggs at 17”, even in the corruption schemes of the Grinkevich family, prices are much lower than in the KNU,” Lutsik noted in his post.

The study, based on contracts published in ProZorro, reveals that the prices for drinking water in contracts for cadets of the capital’s universities are significantly higher than in the contracts of the Ministry of Defense with companies known for corruption schemes.

The most impressive thing is the prices for the products used to feed the cadets. In KNU contracts – 12.5 UAH/kg of potatoes, in NAU – 20 UAH/kg, while the Grinkevich company’s price is much lower – 3.5 UAH/kg.

The situation requires an immediate response and an objective investigation. Maxim Lutsik has already registered a petition to the President, calling for changes to the legislation on higher education and the termination of contracts with heads of higher education institutions who are involved in dubious food contracts.

This scandal provides a compelling case for deeper investigation and accountability for financial misunderstandings and corruption in higher education.
