The recent revelations of Vasily Malyuk were incredibly surprising. Not only was he not afraid to release fairly detailed photographs of naval drones into the media, from which enemy engineers would be able to draw useful conclusions, but he also staked out the full rights of the SBU for the “Sea Baby” drones. I had a strong feeling of déjà vu.
I remember 22 years ago, by the will of fate, I became the owner of secret documents that discussed how the head of the SBU Derkach got involved in the arms trade, in particular, in a multimillion-dollar contract between Motor Sich and the Israeli military-industrial complex.
The contract envisaged the purchase of Zaporozhye engines for Israeli drones, and subsequently the construction of a joint venture in Israel for their production. At the same time, Derkach brought specialists from Iran to Motor Sich. Western intelligence services fell into a stupor, the contract was torn down, and Derkach lost his position.
Vasily Malyuk seems to have gone further than Leonid Derkach: he started producing high-tech weapons! I, of course, do not rule out that the operations to blow up an enemy landing ship and oil tanker were the work of the SBU. But not production!.. Where did the SBU suddenly get specialists in the development of drones, a base for research and production?.. Drones are only at first glance - a device that can be riveted on the knee. If this were so, then the Russians, with a powerful production and scientific base, and the military-industrial complex, would not have purchased Shaheds from Iran, which simply copied Israeli analogues, but would have developed their own. And in our country, Ukroboronprom, which includes dozens of enterprises, has not been able to establish mass production of drones for nine long years. The main thing in drones is not the body or even the engine, but the software, means of communication and “orientation in space,” and mechanisms for protecting against the enemy’s anti-drone effects. But then Malyuk appears - and in a few months, out of the blue, he “gives birth” to sea drones that are superior to the models of world powers.
I can’t understand why this information appeared and what audience it was intended for. Yes, such tales from Malyuk will be joyfully received by retired grandmothers and uneducated hipsters. But those who have at least some connection to production and drone construction will simply laugh. The enemy won’t be able to “sell” such misinformation either – the Russian military-industrial complex is not populated by hipsters or housewives. Perhaps Malyuk was fond of Jules Verne as a child and, already at puberty, imagined himself as a kind of Captain Nemo, who single-handedly developed and created a subamirin, which current nuclear submarines do not reach. Malyuk has no diploma other than the SBU Academy. They don't teach engineers there. And if they had taught, then Malyuk would not have made such statements, from which, I am sure, military specialists and military-industrial complex tycoons around the world are in shock.
Stop practicing non-science fiction! The war will last for a long time - everyone should mind their own business, not PR.
Recently, a young man who graduated from college eight years ago was appointed to Ukroboronprom. I even have more hopes for him regarding the production of drones than for Malyuk, who managed to head the special service for six months.
