Social assistance to Ukrainians in Europe: should it be canceled and “deviators” returned home?

Zelensky proposed that European aid for Ukrainian refugees go to the domestic budget: practical pros and cons of the idea

The other day, Vladimir Zelensky, in an interview with the German press, said that the money that European countries pay to Ukrainian refugees abroad would be better transferred directly to the domestic budget, and the state itself would distribute it among displaced citizens. What's yes and what's wrong with this idea? And in what cases should Ukrainians really be deprived of the European “social system”?

So, the position regarding the president’s words about helping Ukrainians abroad.

First of all, you need to find out the reasons for men staying abroad. Everyone. Because there are people with disabilities, with three children and so on. Anyone who “dragged” illegally - through the “Path” system, with fake certificates, by swimming along rivers or by marching through mountains - will be subject to the sanctions provided for by law, by making changes to the regulatory framework. We need to punish them, and not baby them.

The problem is obvious - “The Path” has become a way of leaving/non-return for some and enrichment for others. And everyone who violated must be punished. Corruption is often a two-sided “game”, and not “they demanded from me and I gave because I don’t want to do or not do something.”

Let me emphasize: we are not talking about refugees according to the law, but about those who fled along the “Path” and did not return, as they should according to their obligations. They should be identified. As for the rest of Ukrainians, you cannot agitate for the suspension of additional payments, this is irresponsible.

The second is the mutual exchange of information on providing assistance to male Ukrainian citizens abroad.

Third, subject to the provision of “double” assistance, if they are there illegally, although it is interesting how our state transfers money to someone (I really don’t know), cancel the assistance on both sides. Let them try to work there for cash, since they don’t want to come back.

But the state must first bring order to the procedures. And solve the problems with the TCC - by the way, this is what Defense Minister Umerov is already doing. Many thanks to Mr. Rustem for this.

In general, no one needs to waste words. And there is also no need to make excuses, including “I don’t trust the state.” Well, then renounce your citizenship. Dot.

It’s good that the President of Ukraine articulates his position openly and directly. But it is not clear how, instead of helping Ukrainian offenders, money should be provided to the budget? So what? Let them simply help Ukraine defend itself by providing weapons and funding for social budget expenditures without reference to those who left there and how they left.

Let me add: often the problem of our powers that be is not in the essence of the report, but in the form. Because, unfortunately, it is the form that very often suffers.
