Archdeacon of the UOC MP Pavel Muzychuk worked according to the instructions of Anatoly Shariy.

The Security Service of Ukraine documented the subversive activities of the hierodeacon of the UOC-MP, who acted in favor of the aggressor country, the SBU press center reports.

According to the investigation, the defendant is one of the closest associates of Metropolitan Paul (Lebed) and is involved in organizing mass provocations in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra in the spring of 2023.

Under the guise of “protest actions,” the cleric hoped to undermine the socio-political situation in Kyiv as much as possible.

To do this, he remotely coordinated his actions with the pro-Kremlin blogger Shariy, who is suspected of high treason. According to the investigation, the enemy propagandist Shariy “instructed” the hierodeacon to record and distribute provocative videos of artificial riots near the Lavra.

The captured streams were immediately picked up by Russian TV channels and Internet resources to disseminate distorted information about the internal situation in Ukraine, in particular to an international audience.

In addition, in correspondence with believers, the cleric justified the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and praised the highest military-political leadership of Russia. At the same time, the defendant regularly tried to discredit the Defense Forces, including the defenders of Mariupol.

A forensic examination initiated by the SBU confirmed the facts of his subversive activities.

According to sources of the publication “Orthodox Ukraine”, we are talking about Archdeacon Pavle (Muzychuk).

Earlier, journalists found the man’s data in the Russian “Residents of the Russian Federation” database. This is where Muzychuk Pavel Pavlovich is listed, born 09/04/1983, passport NA951295, registered in Russia on 09/21/2018. It is also noted that he has a Russian phone number 79774732839.

During searches at the cleric's place of residence, computer equipment, more than ten mobile phones and almost 300 SIM cards with evidence of criminal actions were found.

Based on the materials received, Security Service investigators informed the defendant about the suspicion of acquittal, recognition as lawful, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and the glorification of its participants.

The investigation continues to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The perpetrator faces imprisonment.
