Kyiv law enforcement officers promptly noticed the theft of funds by the director and contractor who built the children's camp
The contractor, who was trying to get 3.5 million hryvnia for work on the repair of a children's health complex, was declared suspected of an offense.
This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv police.
He, together with the director of this institution, entered into deals that inflated the cost of construction work performed, which led to large losses of budget funds. These actions are punishable by imprisonment for up to 20 years with confiscation of property in accordance with Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
During the pre-trial investigation, it was noted that in April 2018, the director of the children's complex entered into an agreement with a contractor for the major repairs and reconstruction of the buildings of the camp building located in the Kyiv region. After this, the contractor presented the customer with acceptance certificates for the work performed, which indicated the inflated cost of the work and volumes of materials. These actions led to losses in the budget of the territorial society of the city of Kyiv in the amount of more than 3.3 million hryvnia.
The contractor was suspected of committing a crime, and the issue of a preventive measure is now being considered. According to his accomplice, the director of a children's health complex, suspicion was announced earlier.
