The head of the capital's cemeteries is at the center of a scandal that could put him behind bars. It turned out that this person was paying salaries to fictitious employees.
So, on paper there were two “ghosts” working, who in fact never appeared at the workplace. During this time, more than 1.6 million hryvnia was credited to their accounts from the city budget.
According to information from the Judicial-Legal Gazette, the former manager is suspected of official negligence. He managed the Belichansky cemetery and at that time a cleaning lady was hired, who was not actually working. Her bank account was regularly replenished with almost 1,145,000 hryvnia for two years.
Then, having changed his place of work, this man became the head of the City Cemetery, where the fictitious cleaning lady was also employed. She was credited more than 500,000 hryvnia for the year, although she actually did not work.
Now the former official faces up to five years in prison for official negligence, which caused serious damage to the budget. The investigation classified the case as “official negligence leading to grave consequences.”
Let us remind you that the main military cemetery of Ukraine will be built by a shell company: the goal is 1.8 billion from the budget
