The court “scored a goal” to the military registration and enlistment office employee who recruited... football players

The Kalushsky District Court sentenced and fined the commander of the security company of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional territorial center for recruitment and social support. In his unit, footballers of a local professional club served fictitiously, who also received almost UAH 1.5 million in material support from the state without justification.

According to the investigation, seven players and coaches of a local professional football club served fictitiously under his leadership. These persons did not report for duty and did not perform any military duties, but they unreasonably received almost 1.5 million hryvnia in material allowances from the state.

The SBI completed its investigation in April of this year.

The court found the official guilty of negligent attitude towards military service under Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Taking into account the sincere repentance of the accused and full compensation for the damage caused, the court imposed a fine on him in the amount of 221 thousand hryvnia.

During the pre-trial investigation, the company commander was removed from duty and transferred to service in another unit. The public prosecution in court was supported by the specialized prosecutor's office of Ivano-Frankivsk in the field of defense of the Western region.
