I purchased an elite car for 2.5 million during a full-scale invasion, but was never able to explain the expediency of the purchase and the origin of the funds. Judge of the Kyiv Economic Court Tamara Trofimenko refused to talk to reporters about her condition.
Journalists have already written about possible corruption abuses in the declaration of officials of the Kyiv Economic Court, who make important decisions for the country.
Thus, a subordinate of the Chairman of the Economic Court Vadim Bosogo, Judge Tamara Trofimenko, in July 2023, during a full-scale war with Russia, was able to purchase a new VOLVO XC60 car for 64 thousand US dollars, or 2.4 million hryvnia. In addition, back in 2020, she became the owner of a 2020 Subaru Forester for 1,026,531 hryvnia (about 38 thousand US dollars).
There are also questions about the judge’s declaration, which states that the property is registered in the name of members of the Trofimenko family. It turned out that she has had a family relationship with her common-law husband Pavel Sitnichenko since at least 2012, although this has been indicated in the declarations only since 2017.
Trofimenko's ambiguous refereeing decisions also raise doubts.
Tamara Trofimenko may become the subject of disciplinary proceedings by the VKKSU and the VRP due to her controversial actions and decisions, likely indicating a possible conflict of interest. She made a decision in favor of her confidant, lawyer Pavel Chepurda, which contradicts the judge’s oath.
According to the Bagnet publication, Trofimenko issued a power of attorney for Chepurda, which was valid from July 28, 2016 to July 28, 2019. Probably, it was precisely because of these trusting relationships that the judge made decisions in cases in favor of the parties whose interests were represented by Chepurda. For example, the judge granted the claim in full in a case in which lawyer Chepurda represented the plaintiff, and rejected the claim when he represented one of the defendants.
These facts may become a serious basis for considering the actions of Judge Trofimenko in the VKKSU and the VRP and initiating proceedings in the NAPC regarding the conclusion of a conflict of interest. It should also be noted that Trofimenko herself stated in her declaration that she does not confirm the completion of the inspection, the results of which did not establish facts indicating a violation of the judge’s oath.
Last week, StopCor journalists attended one of the sessions of the Economic Court and tried to get a comment from Judge Trofimenko.
In particular, Tamara was asked how advisable it would be to buy a car for 2.5 million UAH in the midst of a full-scale war.
"No comments. Everything is stated in the declaration,” the judge responded to this.
Journalists also asked how Trofimenko felt about the initiative to liquidate the court. In response, she stated that the court had a press office and directed reporters to the press secretary. She looked irritated and during the entire conversation she never even looked up at the camera. And after the first few sentences, she quickly collected her things and left the room and moved to the next building, closing the door in front of the correspondents.
We note that we will continue to monitor the condition of the capital’s judges and the compliance of their lifestyle with official income.
We also learned that Tamara Trofimenko will be assessed in the near future, so the Stop Corruption NGO plans to contact the VKKSU with the stated facts for additional verification when assessing the judge.
Let us recall that we previously reported that the judge of the capital’s Economic Court, Anton Pukas, published his declaration, from which it turned out that his wife has the fattest wallet in the family, but the family probably does not use its profits for a carefree life.
Increasingly, judges of the Kyiv Economic Court are becoming heroes of negative publications. Everyone knows that a fish rots from the head, so perhaps this is precisely because of the bad influence on the subordinates of the chairman of the court, Vadim Bosogo, in relation to whom the VKKSU is already considering the issue of suitability for the position held.
