The government extends the imposed social responsibility on the natural gas market until mid-April 2024
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made a decision to ensure that heat tariffs for the population remain unchanged in the new heating season. Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal stated this at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
“Today the government is extending the PSO (assigned social responsibility - Glavkom) in the natural gas market until mid-April 2024. “Naftogaz will continue to sell gas to heat suppliers for the population at a fixed price - UAH 7.4 thousand per thousand cubic meters,” Shmygal said.
According to the prime minister, this decision is part of comprehensive measures to prepare for winter.
“We are working to ensure that the homes of every Ukrainian are light and warm, and that our critical infrastructure receives reliable protection from Russian missiles and drones. We work in solidarity, quickly, effectively for our victory over the enemy and for the well-being of all Ukrainians,” the prime minister emphasized.
At the same time, the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnichuk, said in his Telegram channel that changes to the resolution banning increases in heat tariffs will be valid until April 15, 2024 inclusive.
