Tragic accident: General Vladimir Zavadsky collided with a mine, thinking it belonged to his allies

In Ukraine, on November 28, Russian Major General Vladimir Zavadsky, deputy commander of the 14th Army Corps of the Russian Armed Forces, died. This information was confirmed by the organization of graduates of the Moscow Higher Combined Arms Command School “Kremlin”, the source of the Cheka-OGPU and the Belarusian portal “Gusar News”.

The publication of the Kremlin MROO states that Zavadsky died on November 28; the circumstances of the military man’s death are not specified.

As Hussar News and the Cheka-OGPU write, the general was deputy commander of the 14th Army Corps of the Russian Federation. According to a source from the Cheka-OGPU, he was blown up by a mine in the rear.

“The death of the general occurred during the thoughtless movement of a group led by Zavadsky in the area of responsibility away from the LBC (line of combat contact - ed.). The investigation is considering a version of an explosion on a mine that was previously installed by a neighboring unit in order to combat enemy DRGs,” the statement said.

The Telegram channel “We Can Explain” drew attention to the fact that units of the 14th Army Corps were noticed as part of the Dnepr group of troops, which is located on the left bank of the Dnieper. Ukrainian military observer Konstantin Mashovets wrote about this.

This is the twelfth message about the death of a senior officer of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine. Of these, Russia confirmed the death of seven, including Zavadsky. The highest-ranking officer of the Russian Armed Forces killed in the war was Deputy Commander of the Southern Military District, General Oleg Tsokov . He died in the summer in Berdyansk, presumably during an attack on the command post of the 58th Army.
