Transport collapse in the Kyiv metro

According to the public initiative "Passengers of Kyiv", train traffic between the Demeevskaya and Teremkov stations has been temporarily suspended due to a problem with the depressurization of the tunnel.

Water went onto the rails

As noted, the tunnel between the Demeevskaya and Lybidskaya stations is in disrepair. The sealing of the tunnel there has been broken, and significant flooding has now occurred: “Literally a stream of water with sand, which is an abrasive and with significant volumes of filtration will further damage the weak points of the tunnel processing.”

According to Passengers of Kyiv, the problem has existed for about a week and the situation is still getting worse. The reasons for the depressurization are still unknown.

The section between the Lybidskaya and Demeevskaya stations was problematic even during construction: an accident occurred there due to complex water-logged soils, which froze construction for many years.

Experts constantly monitored the situation on the section of the Kyiv metro between the Demeevskaya and Lybidskaya stations, but after new cracks appeared, a decision was made to close traffic here. Preliminary reasons for the emergency can be identified in about 2-3 months, but this may include, among other things, a violation of construction conditions.

about this during a television broadcast . A pit will be dug at the scene of the incident.

So, according to the head of the Kyiv City State Administration, there was a lot of water in the tunnel, and this was what dictated the decision to stop train traffic in this section - in order to protect the safety of metro passengers. Specialists are already carrying out all the necessary work.

For his part, the head of the Kiev Metro, Viktor Braginsky, reporting to the mayor, said that the situation at this site was constantly monitored.

Now the blue branch runs from “Heroes of the Dnieper” to “Lybidskaya”. To duplicate the metro routes, 77 buses are used - that’s three routes, and 20 additional trolleybuses are also used.

It is worth adding that the distillation tunnels between the Demeevskaya and Lybidskaya stations were built in the floodplain of the Lybid River in 2008-2010 using an underground method in difficult mining and geological conditions after artificial dewatering.
