During the lifestyle monitoring, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption identified signs of unjustified assets of the head of the department for combating drug crime of the Main Police Department in Kyiv in the amount of almost 3.9 million UAH. The funds may be collected as state income.
This is reported on the NAPC website.
In 2022, the employee’s wife sold a Dodge Durango car for 697 thousand UAH to her mother-in-law, but remained its user. In 2023, using a power of attorney from her mother-in-law, she purchased a plot of land in the Kyiv region for more than UAH 3 million. NACP found that the employee’s family income does not correspond to the value of the acquired assets.
This is not the first case of this nature, since in 2018 the employee’s mother also purchased two apartments in Kyiv, although she does not actually live in this region.
The NAPC found that the savings and total official income of the police officer, his mother and wife are significantly lower than the value of the acquired assets.
According to parts 5-7 of Article 12 of the Law, the NAPC transferred the materials to the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) for further actions, including the possibility of going to court to recognize the acquired assets as unfounded and recover them for the state in the total amount of UAH 3,878,590.
