Mikhail Fedorov spoke about plans to strengthen the production of electronic warfare equipment in Ukraine.
Minister for Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov said in the “Elephant” podcast that Ukraine is going to significantly expand the market for electronic warfare (EW), as it successfully does with the production of drones.
He noted that Ukraine has ambitions to transfer the production of electronic warfare to the market and open it to entrepreneurs. “We are working to repeat the success with drones. Open the market as much as possible, create competition,” the minister said.
As Fedorov explained, companies will compete with each other for contracts with the Ukrainian army, and the Ministry of Defense has already begun active contracting. “Electronic warfare was added to the drone standard so that companies have a margin and make it easier to conclude contracts,” he explained. The minister also allowed the creation of a separate electronic warfare brigade.
