In a statement, Deputy Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Ivan Gavrilyuk emphasizes that the priority will be to expand the production of air defense equipment. This includes not only the creation of portable anti-aircraft missile systems, but also the development of systems with a range of more than 100 kilometers.
Ukraine has allocated 175 billion hryvnia for the purchase of missiles and ammunition so that the Defense Forces can better resist Russian aggression. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Ivan Gavrilyuk.
According to him, the greatest attention will be paid to the production of air defense equipment. We are talking not only about conventional man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems, but also about air defense systems with a range of more than 100 kilometers (like the Coral air defense system).
“The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, together with the Ministry of Strategic Industries, will increase the production of missiles, ammunition, weapons and military equipment several times next year,” the department said in a statement.
It is reported that the main priority is the development of the domestic defense-industrial complex.
It was previously reported that an interdepartmental working group has been created under the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which will study problematic issues in the construction of military engineering and fortification structures and respond to them in a timely manner. This decision was made on November 24 at a meeting between Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Digital Transformation Minister Mikhail Fedorov.
