The Ukrainian company was exposed by the SBU for supplying military tactical medicine to the Russian Federation during the war

Suspicions arise that the owner of one of the leading Ukrainian companies engaged in the production of rubber and plastic products, including for military equipment, is involved in illegal schemes.

The Security Service of Ukraine exposed one of the enterprises in the Kyiv region, which carried out wholesale supplies of tactical medicine to the Russian Federation. The owner of one of the largest companies in Ukraine, which produces rubber and plastic products, including for military equipment, is suspected of organizing the deal.

According to the case materials, during 2022-2023, businessmen transported several batches of tactical tourniquets and bandages of their own production to the Russian Federation for a total amount of more than 40 million in hryvnia equivalent.

“According to the investigation, the illegal route ran through one of the European countries, where the defendants created a controlled company that ordered goods allegedly for sale in the EU.  Moreover, in fact, after receiving the products, the foreign structure sent the products to Russia,” the statement .

The Service notes that on the territory of the aggressor country, tactical medical equipment ended up in sanctioned Russian companies specializing in the supply of ammunition for Russian troops.

Subsequently, tactical medicine products ended up in the individual first-aid kits of Russians who are fighting against the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The occupiers also sent medical supplies to Russian military hospitals in the temporarily occupied regions of our state.

“As the investigation established, in order to disguise criminal activities, the owner of the Ukrainian company was engaged in “promotion” of his own image as a volunteer donating medical goods to Ukrainian fighters,” the SBU adds.

During searches at the residence addresses of the suspects, as well as in their offices and production and warehouse premises of the enterprise, mobile phones, computers and documentation with evidence of the transaction were found.

Based on the collected materials, Security Service investigators informed the owner of the company about suspicion. The issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being decided. The defendant faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

As reported , the Security Service “hot on the heels” established addresses and dismantled webcams that broadcast the work of air defense and the locations of critical infrastructure in Kiev during the Russian air attack on January 2.
