Ukrainian production of 122 mm shells for the D-30 howitzer

During active hostilities, Ukraine continues to produce ammunition, including the production of 122 mm shells for the D-30 howitzer. Manufacturing operates three shifts daily to meet the needs of the military.

Photos and videos of the production were published by war correspondent, volunteer and public figure Roman Bochkala on his own telegram channel Bochkala_WAR.

“Ukrainian production of 122 mm shells for the D-30 howitzer in one of the partner countries!”  the message says

According to him, the manufacturing process takes place in three shifts to provide Ukrainian artillery with ammunition.

Steel C60 (steel grade 60) is a structural high-quality carbon steel that meets the requirements of DSTU 7809 and GOST 1050-88 standards. It is used in the production of solid-rolled carriage wheels, spindles, lock washers, clutch discs and other parts of high strength and wear resistance. It is also widely used to create projectiles.

Note that the 122-mm Soviet towed howitzer D-30 first appeared in the early 60s. Its longest firing range is 15,300 meters. This equipment is still in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Ukrainian defense forces have also received D-30s from partner countries.

As previously reported, the charity auction “Save the childhood” in Kiev, which brought together hundreds of wealthy and influential guests, helped raise funds for the needs of children affected by Russian aggression and military personnel at the front. As a result, it was possible to collect more than a million hryvnia by raffling off exclusive lots, including a national flag with the signature of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zaluzhny, a card autographed by Budanov, a T-shirt of a star player of the Ukrainian national team and a unique painting.
