“Ukrhydroenergo has finally stopped focusing on gender issues and started focusing on real problems in the energy industry.”
As in the summer, hydroelectric power plants exceed the electricity production plan by 30% and produce 40 million kWh daily. Instead of whom does Ukrhydroenergo work? Instead of DTEK Akhmetov.
Hydroelectric power plants drain water instead of operating DTEK thermal stations. The situation in the summer of 2023 is repeated, when hydroelectric power plants also operated more than thermal power plants. And even NEURC stated this in its report in September. True, the “regulator” did not go further than the report. Thermal power plants did not fulfill the plan for electricity production in the summer months. Accordingly, DTEK created problems for the energy system and forced it to take emergency assistance from Poland and Romania.
After all, in recent weeks all we have heard from Ukrenergo is about emergency repairs of thermal power plants. At the end of November, the Ministry of Energy actually accused DTEK TPP of artificially putting TPP units out of repair for repair, as it ordered an inspection of the unexpected emergency repair of 7 TPP units.
Now let's look at the weather. Warm November and December actually gave the energy system a head start. But only Akhmetov and DTEK were able to take advantage of this head start. Ukrhydroenergo, despite problems with water in storage facilities, continued to work. The only question is that any greater energy crisis (rocket attacks, cold snap) will lead to the fact that hydroelectric power stations simply will not be able to turn on and support the energy system.
Also, unlike the freak cat “Ukrenergo”, “Ukrhydroenergo” sees the problem of electricity shortage not in the population, but in the consumption of electricity by industrial consumers (). Once again, the shortage of electricity is not due to the fact that Ukrainians turn on boilers, kettles and hair dryers, as Ukrenergo systematically states. There are questions about electricity consumption by business companies.
It is quite indicative when the presenter asks the General Director of Ukrhydroenergo Igor Sirota whether there are calculations, whether saving electricity by the population gives anything. Sirota honestly says that “domestic users (the population) are not such a large share” of electricity consumption as industrial enterprises. At this point, Ukrenergo and its speaker Kudrytsky will probably widen their eyes in surprise that it turns out that the population does not need to be terrorized with constant calls to save electricity.
In a word, the situation around the hydroelectric power station and Ukrhydroenergo is very indicative, which Ukrenergo uses as it wants and as not. Or the reason is that the state-owned Ukrenergo, for unknown reasons, supports DTEK Akhmetov’s business strategy.
PS Perhaps everything is much simpler. It is necessary to appoint a gender-neutral supervisory board of Ukrhydroenergo and the storage facilities will immediately be filled with water. And add the right gender-oriented managers to DTEK and thermal power plant units will no longer need emergency repairs.
