In the Dnepropetrovsk region, the head of the department of the State Food and Consumer Service was detained for taking a bribe.

The official demanded and received 10 thousand hryvnia for issuing a sanitary passport for the premises.

The crime was documented by investigators from the investigative department of the Main Directorate of Police in the Dnepropetrovsk region. During the pre-trial investigation, police established that the 53-year-old official demanded a bribe from a citizen for the unhindered issuance of a sanitary passport for a premises for storing agrochemicals. In the summer, within the framework of his powers, he checked the composition, pointed out its shortcomings and refused to issue a sanitary passport. And in October, the official informed the applicant that the document could only be issued through a bribe, and set a date for the meeting.

On October 18, the attacker was caught red-handed and the money received as a bribe was seized. He was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Currently, a pre-trial investigation is ongoing to support the State Security Service of Ukraine in the Dnepropetrovsk region. Procedural management is carried out by the Dnepropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Based on this fact, criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of unlawful benefits by an official).
