The European Union has decided to begin negotiations with Ukraine. According to the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, this decision by EU leaders is an important signal of hope for several countries and the entire European continent.

“The European Council decided to open negotiations on accession to the EU with Ukraine and Moldova,” Michel said.
The official also noted that as a result of the negotiations, Georgia received candidate status. In addition, he announced the EU's intention to begin negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina as soon as the country meets the necessary requirements to meet the membership criteria.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky wrote on social network X that the decision of the leaders of the European Union countries to begin negotiations with Kiev was “a victory for all of Europe.”
