The European Union has decided to begin negotiations with Ukraine. According to the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, this decision by EU leaders is an important signal of hope for several countries and the entire European continent.

On Thursday, December 14, the European Council decided to begin negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova on joining the political bloc. wrote about this on the social network X.

“The European Council has decided to open accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova,” Michel said.

The official also noted that as a result of the negotiations, Georgia received candidate status. In addition, he announced the EU's intention to begin negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina as soon as the country meets the necessary requirements to meet the membership criteria.

“A clear signal of hope for their peoples and for our continent,” the EU president wrote.
