Detectives from the Territorial Directorate of the BEB in the Kyiv region, together with Cyber Police operatives, exposed a large-scale scheme for the illegal production of liquids for electronic cigarettes.
According to reports, the total market value of excisable products seized from illegal circulation is about UAH 365 million.
The investigation established that a group of people organized the clandestine production of liquids used in electronic cigarettes in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
The full cycle of mass production of counterfeit products was established in specially equipped workshops using industrial equipment.
“Manufacturers offered a wide range of products for refilling vape pens. Four main components were used for liquids: nicotine, propylene glycol, glycerin, and flavorings. The products were packaged in plastic PET bottles. The finished product was distributed throughout Ukraine,” the BEB said.
BEB detectives and Cyber Police officers conducted searches of underground production, warehouse and office premises.
BEB seized 1.8 million units of e-liquid, more than 15 thousand disposable electronic devices, almost 15 thousand liters of chemical raw materials, equipment and accessories for production from illegal circulation. In addition, more than 6 million UAH. equivalent and 6 vehicles.
