In Kyiv, the head of the department of the State Tax Service “got burned” due to a dollar bribe

1 thousand US dollars for writing off tax obligations: the head of the department of the State Tax Service in the city of Kyiv was detained in the capital.

This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, a citizen contacted the State Tax Service in Kyiv to clarify the grounds for imposing encumbrances on the movable property of his loved ones and the possibility of canceling such encumbrances.

“During the provision of advice on these issues, the 39-year-old tax specialist reported that in connection with the existing debt to pay certain types of taxes, the declarant was charged a penalty, which also resulted in the imposition of encumbrances on the debtor’s property.

At the same time, the official proposed to write off the accrued penalty and remove all existing encumbrances upon payment of the main amount of tax obligations, as well as the transfer of unlawful benefits in the amount of 1 thousand US dollars,” the message says.

On October 13, after receiving illegal benefits, the taxman was detained.

The issue of reporting suspicion to a detainee and choosing a preventive measure is currently being resolved.

The sanction of the incriminated article provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
